Name of Position: SAP Custom Development: Sr. Consultant Development (ABAP)
Purpose and Objective:
SAP Custom Development is a global organization that helps customers seize new market opportunities and respond dynamically to new business challenges by developing unique custom solutions based on their current SAP platform. Whether our customers need to extend and enhance an existing SAP solution or build an entirely new and innovative application, SAP Custom Development is able to deliver high-quality custom solutions tailored to our customers business needs.
The Solution Execution team within SAP Custom Development is chartered with executing custom development projects and related services, where success is measured by effectively leveraging our ability to deliver those projects on-time, on-budget and with superior quality. As part of the Solution Execution team, you will be responsible for high level business process and requirements analysis, architecting solutions utilizing appropriate technologies across various SAP components and application areas, creating solution definitions, functional specifications and design documents as required, overseeing development, support and training with all documentation, together with testing, production and go-live aspects according to the SAP Custom Development methodology.
Expectations and Tasks
• Provide technical specifications and designs for low to medium complexity issues independently
• Complete development activities such as coding, testing, documentation and maintenance support for SAP Custom Development solutions
• Participate in project quality management tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications, design documents and code reviews
• Provide high quality of message resolution adhering to the Service Level Agreements
• Have a high customer focus and manage customer expectations in a responsive manner
• Communicate project status according to project communication plan
• Escalate issues well in advance and suggest alternative approaches
• Adhere to project timelines and budget specified

• Be flexible in taking up different tasks in the project

Skills and Competencies
• 2 to 6 years of ABAP development experience
• Proficiency in ABAP Technologies - ABAP Workbench,
• ABAP Data Dictionary, Report Programming, Data
• Migration, Screen Programming, Smartforms,
• Authorizations, ALE/IDOC, Workflow, Performance Tuning
• Knowledge on ABAP topics: Webdynpro ABAP, OO ABAP, Database Updates, Enhancements & Modifications preferred
• Functional expertise of business processes, master data, transactions & configuration knowledge in any of the following areas:
o SCM – APO, EWM
o SD, MM, FI, CO, PP, PM, PS, WM
o HCM
o CRM
o PLM
o Industry Specific:
o IS-Utilities
o IS-Media
o IS-Retail
o IS-Oil
o IS-Insurance
• Experience in executing projects in a distributed development model
• Excellent communication skills: presentation/facilitation, verbal communication, writing & listening

Academic Qualification
BE / B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA with an aggregate score of 65% or above from IIT/NIT/REC/any Premium Institute
